Mason-Scharfenstein Museum of Art
The Mason-Scharfenstein Museum of Art is now the permanent home for art donated to the college by Dr. Bill Mason, a member of the Class of 1957, and Bob Scharfenstein, both of Birmingham, Ala. Piedmont College Chapel
The primary location for performances by the Department of Music is the Chapel. Every year the Department of Music holds dozens of concerts by students and faculty, as well as visiting performers. The Chapel is wired for recording the ensembles which allows the Department of Music to make CDs for listeners and use in the classroom setting.

Conservatory of Music
Piedmont’s $10.1 million Conservatory of Music includes a new concert hall with adjustable acoustics, a grand foyer, acoustically isolated teaching studios, classrooms, student practice rooms, a digital music suite, music library/conference room, student/faculty lounges, and auxiliary spaces. The facility houses 27 Steinway pianos. The hand-crafted instruments, widely considered the finest in the world, are synonymous with prestige and quality. The pianos and Piedmont’s designation as an All-Steinway School were made possible through a $1.5 million gift by an anonymous donor.

Sewell Organ
The Sewell Organ at Piedmont College is housed in the Chapel. It is named in honor of Piedmont alumnus and former trustee Charles K. Sewell (‘54). The organ was designed by Dr. James F. Mellichamp, President, in collaboration with members of the Casavant staff. There are some 3,691 pipes in the organ constructed of various metals and woods. The organ’s key action is mechanical and there is a solid-state electronic combination action which controls the organs stops and couplers. The case of the organ is constructed of oak and features hand-carved and gilded pipe shades.
Arrendale Amphitheater
This 350-seat outdoor performance area features a sculpted metal roof that covers the stage and part of the seating area. Named for the Arrendale family, including Board of Trustees chairman Thomas A. “Gus” Arrendale III, the amphitheater hosts a variety of public events, including an all-day bluegrass festival, student performances, and public concerts. The amphitheater also won a design award from Metal Architecture magazine for its designers, Armentrout Roebuck Matheny Consulting Group of Athens.

Swanson Center for Performing Arts & Communications
The Department of Theatre performs in venues in and around the Swanson Center for Performing Arts and Communications. The three main venues are the W.R. Cleere Mainstage Theater, the Blackbox Theater, and the Arrendale Amphitheater. Each venue provides a different atmosphere to give the students and audiences the most variety possible while at Piedmont. The Swanson Center, built in 2007, enjoyed its tenth anniversary in the 2017-2018 academic year.
W.R. Cleere Mainstage Theater
The Swanson Center features a modern 350-seat theater with state-of-the-art sound and lighting, as well as a backstage area that includes adequate fly space, dressing rooms, costume storage and a separate set construction workshop.

Black Box Theater
The Black Box Theater gives students space to perform smaller, avant-garde shows and theatre-in-the-round. This space is also used for acting and directing classes.

Johnny Mize Athletic Center & Museum
The Johnny Mize Athletic Center is home to the collection of some of Johnny Mize's (The "Big Cat") most treasured memorabilia. The Major League Baseball Hall of Famer played at Piedmont College before a storied career that included time with the St. Louis Cardinals, New York Giants, and New York Yankees. The Mize Center also includes Cave Arena, where the Lions and Lady Lions basketball programs play, as well as the Lady Lions volleyball team. MORE INFO
