Giving to the LES Center

Please join us in introducing a new generation to the legacy of a fine writer and tireless advocate for justice. Donations to the Center allow us to welcome residents to the Center, make necessary facility upgrades, and host programs that will preserve Lillian Smith’s legacy for future generations.

Annual Giving & Special Projects

Annual gifts support year-round programs and activities at the Center. We are grateful for gifts of any amount and all donors will be recognized in the Honor Roll of Donors. You may give online or by mailing a check to LES Center, Piedmont College, PO Box 429, Demorest, GA 30535.

As stewards of the LES Center, Piedmont College is committed to maintaining and improving the facilities at this special place. The following projects are current priorities to enhance the experience for artists, students, faculty, staff, and guests:
  • Expansion of parking at the Center
  • Renovation of the arts studio
  • Upgrades to the cottages
If you would like more information on how you can help with these important projects, please contact Matthew Teutsch, Director of the LES Center, or (706) 894-4204.

If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed with your gift to the following address: Piedmont College, P.O. Box 429, Demorest, GA 30535. We will do the rest. The impact of your gift to Piedmont may be doubled or possibly tripled. Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees. To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, please enter your employer's name below.

Legacy Gifts

Did you know that you can leave a legacy to the LES Center through your estate plans? Legacy gifts are a perfect way to provide fellowships for artists in residence at the Center, scholarship funds for students in the Lillian E. Smith Scholars Program at Piedmont College, and general support of the Center. For more information regarding legacy gifts and Planned Giving Options, please contact Mark Elam, Director of Development by email or at 706-894-4214.
