Professional Biography & Experience
I am currently an associate professor and department chair of Elementary Education at Piedmont College in Demorest, GA. In these roles, I teach and work with students through their course work, I observe interns in the field, and I currently chair a doctoral committee. I collaborate with my colleagues on program assessment and evaluation, design courses, and advise students through their programs.
Previous to joining the faculty at Piedmont, I was Assistant Professor of Curriculum and Instruction, elementary program coordinator, and the Director of Research and Special Projects for Write to Change at the University of South Carolina Aiken.
I am passionate about creating educational systems that are more equitable and inclusive for diverse student populations and I value sharing this passion with undergraduate and graduate students. My areas of expertise are literacy and English education and I enjoy advocating for and supporting my students through their learning experiences in higher education.
